Wearable color but formula transfers too mucch
Free Is a nude beige shade that may be a hit or a miss. I wasn’t too crazy about this shade at first but it grew on me. Unlike other nude beiges I tried before, I did not look pale or sick with this one. It’s definitely a color you can wear everyday, especially if you want to tone it down a little.

Free is one of four new products from Happy Skin. It’s a butter balm. When I first heard of it, I immediately knew that it’s gonna be some sort of hydrid between a lip gloss and a lipstick. When I saw the actual product, I was surprised at how similar it looked to ColourPop’s Blotted Lips. The size of the tube and the rounded tip of the bullet is very much like that of the blotted lips. So yeah...I really got curious and ended up buying all four shades. These butter balms were initially released as two sets containing two lippies each. You get two free hair ties per set if you buy it. I was taken in by the freebie so I went ahead and bought the two sets. 😂
Anyway, the butter balms are exactly like what they are. The bullet seemed to melt when you applied it on your lips. Application was a bit tedious because the product tend to smudge and have a life of their own. It kinda reminded me of Aritaum’s Melting Lip Balm and Wet n’ Wilds Tinted Lip Balm. They have the same formula. Only difference is this butter balm from Happy Skin is very pigmented. But since it’s not smudge-proof, it transfers like crazy. So you end up re-applying every now and then especially if you drink or eat. It can last the entire day just as long as you don’t eat or drink.
One thing I really liked about this product is the cooling effect it has on the lips. You immediately feel this cool sensation right after you apply it. It has a minty smell which is not that overpowering. And it really hydrates and moisturizes the lips. The finish is like that of a lip gloss so you have this nice healthy shine on your lips. It makes your lips look plump and healthy. Oh, I almost forgot. Before you go out wearing this, take the time to check your teeth often. Because it really gets in your teeth. No matter how careful you are, the lipstick will get on your teeth. So make sure to check before you leave the house.
I’m a bit off with the butter balms, partly because of the whole melting part. But the shades in this line holds promise and it’s a pretty nice lippie to have especially during the summer. I think I’ll try the rest of the shades before I give a final impression. But so far, it’s just okay for me. The formula can use some work, but the shades are good to go.
