EVENING LIP ROUTINE


STEP 1: CLEANSE YOUR LIPS
Whether or not lip makeup is your thing, it’s always a good idea to start your night routine with a clean base. (Yes, lips included.) Be it micellar water or your usual double cleansing formulas, let it take care of rinsing away anything left on your lips for a fresher pout.

STEP 2: EXFOLIATE WITH A SCRUB
Peeling dry skin off your lips might seem tempting, but it can also be really painful. Bloody, even. So instead of ripping your lips raw, try exfoliating the flakes off with a gentle lip scrub. Mostly made with natural, sugary ingredients, this is a much better alternative to getting rid of uneven, patchy skin.

STEP 3: WEAR A LIP MASK
Sheet masks might leave your lips out of the fun, but thank goodness we have lip masks. If you’re someone with a bad case of cracked lips, then you know not all lip balms are made equally. That said, you’ll want to be extra picky about what you use and look out for heavy duty formulas you can really slather on. Not only that, check to see if it’ll stick onto your lips and last through the night, otherwise, all the moisturizing magic will go straight to your pillow.

STEP 5: TREAT WITH A LIP SLEEPING MASK

MORNING LIP ROUTINE

STEP 1: EXFOLIATE LIPS

Another way to go about exfoliating is through a trusty toothbrush. With lips slightly moistened, either with water or petroleum jelly, rub a clean toothbrush on lips in a gentle, circular motion. If your lips are extra sensitive, try toothbrushes made for kids! These usually have softer bristles which should be easy on the smoocher.

STEP 2: APPLY A LIP BALM WITH SPF
It’s easy to forget, but lips need their daily dose of sun protection, too. So if you have yet to jump on the SPF train, you might want to switch out your classic chapstick for a moisturizing balm that has at least SPF 15. Plus, it’ll leave your lips with a smooth, soft base in case you’ll be topping off the look with your fave lipstick.
